My career didn't start in private practice. It started in the classroom and moved into the administrative offices of the school district. I have served as an Education Specialist, a Program Specialist, and a District Administrator.
For years, I sat on the "other side" of the table. I was the one drafting the IEPs, allocating the funding, and interpreting the policies. I saw firsthand how the system is designed—not necessarily with ill intent, but with an overwhelming focus on compliance rather than potential.
I watched dedicated parents agree to plans that were "legally sufficient" but educationally hollow, simply because they didn't know the right questions to ask. I realized that the only way to truly bridge the gap between a student's potential and their reality was to step out of the system and guide families through it.
